2017; We Welcome You
As the year of 2016 closes up tonight, I imagine our superstitions will breath a sigh of relief.
It's been 'eventful' - I think that's a safe way to put it. We've been filled with highs and slummed through the lows - but it's not all over yet...
I won't dwell on what's not been so great, what's been done has been done and now is the time to learn from the problems we've gone through and build on all the positives we've found.
Just look at what Greenpeace has achieved in bringing us a safer and fairer world. We donb't hear enough of news like this.

We ridicule the roller-coaster of the mad house that was 2016 - yet there were so many opportunities for us to be happy. To celebrate all the talent, bravery and admirable traits that is in everyone. This year we saw bucket loads of empathy spill out it's warmth to migrants crossing national borders and to thousands struck by natural disasters, such as the earthquake in Ecuador.
In the Syrian region alone, more than 3,000,000 children have been vaccinated in attempts to keep them safe over Winter.
Just one lady, Jaz O'Hara, raised over £132,000 and many supplies for the migrants in the now-deceased 'Jungle' in Calais. Yes she does have a blog and so maybe she has more influential power than you today, however, you have just the same power as any other human, if you really want to find the right way.
You have done extraordinary work and it's not often you are praised. If you have taken your own money and gone out of your own way to donate to a cause that means so much to you this year, no matter how big or small, you are the light of 2016 and we yearn to see you shine again soon.
Before we celebrate the last few seconds (and the extra second) of this year and gleefully wave it goodbye, I hope you take time to reflect upon the good times and what you can do to make the bad times easier next year.
If you want a little reminder of the events of this year (mostly American, I will admit), here's 'The Late Late Show with James Cordon' giving you a recap.
